Freedom Furniture & Electronics closing its doors in Colorado Springs

Freedom Furniture & Electronics is closing its Colorado Springs store in the next several weeks, part of a decision this year by the retailer's parent company to shut down all of its stores nationwide. Freedom employees told customers Thursday that the store, 3775 E. Pikes Peak Ave., near Pikes Peak and Academy Boulevard, will shut down Dec. 31 - although its closing could come as early as month's end. The store is conducting a going-out-of-business sale. Employees referred calls to the company's corporate offices in New Jersey and Virginia; officials there didn't call back. Parent company Freedom Stores Inc.
